Indian Navy to induct 49 ships in next 5 years

Vice Admiral ChopraIn order to strengthen India's naval fleet, 49 ships would be inducted into the navy in the next five years, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Anil Chopra said here on Saturday. Addressing a press conference on board INS Shakti, a fleet tanker of the Indian Navy here today, Chopra said that the navy presently has 132 ships, including 14 submarines.
